CAAM: CN Jul Auto, NEV Sales Up 14.7%, 27.4% YoY
In July, the automobile production and sales of China numbered 2.591 million and 2.593 million units respectively, representing an MoM shrinkage of 7.3% and 10.7%, but a YoY increment of 13.3% and 14.7%, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) data showed.

In 7M25, the automobile production and sales amounted to 18.235 million and 18.269 million units, marking a YoY growth of 12.7% and 12%, with the growth rate expanding by 0.2 and 0.6 ppts respectively compared to 1H25.

In July, the new energy vehicle (NEV) production and sales reached 1.243 million and 1.262 million units, reflecting a YoY hike of 26.3% and 27.4%, data also showed. The NEV sales accounted for 48.7% of total new car sales.

In 7M25, the NEV production and sales hit 8.232 million and 8.22 million units, with YoY rise of 39.2% and 38.5%, accounting for 45% of total new car sales.

Additionally, the automobile exports from China in July were 575,000 units, a MoM decrease of 2.8% but a YoY increase of 22.6%.

In 7M25, the automobile exports totaled 3.68 million units, a YoY upswing of 12.8%.
