Top Net Buys: 5x Long DLCs on DBS, UOB & Genting

In April month-to-date, Singapore shares have corrected sharply including the 3 Singapore banks DBS, UOB and OCBC which declined by -6.3%, -3.5% and -2.6% respectively as of 13 April. During this dip, DBS and UOB saw a combined Net Inflow of S$1.3M on the 5x Long DLCs (DQEW, DKBW, DOGW, DHBW). This is inline with DBS and UOB shares itself where both were top retail Net Buys based on fund flows reported by SGX. 

In terms of Long-Short Ratio based on DLC outstanding units (investor holdings) as of 13 April, DBS saw 59% on the Long DLC vs 41% on the Short DLC while UOB saw 87% on the Long DLCs vs 13% on the Short DLCs. 

Since the Singapore Government announced the relaxation of Covid-19 measures on 24 March, reopening plays such as Genting Singapore have been in focus with the 5x Long DLC (DUBW) on Genting Singapore registering a net inflow of S$508k since the announcement.

Each DLC’s funds flow for the previous trading day on 13/04/2022 is calculated by change in the DLC’s outstanding units for the period from 12/04/2022 to 13/04/2022 (positive if there is increase in outstanding units, i.e. investors net bought DLCs from Designated Market Makers) multiplied by the last intrinsic close of such DLCs. The DLC funds flow is the aggregate of the funds flow of DLCs referencing the same Underlying Asset and same direction.
